New Year Resolutions

I'm not a great fan of new year resolutions because they tend to be forgotten about within a couple of weeks, and so the only new year resolution I am going to make at the start of 2008 is to see in 2009 (though not in a hurry).

One of my friends who blogs around in this particular blogosphere has said she wants to enter the new year with the ability to love and be loved. That is probably the wish of most people, though clearly not one shared by Osama Bin Laden and his followers.

Having reached the age of 70 just before the new year I am reminded of British comedy writer Denis Norden who said "One of the advantages of being 70 is that you need only four hours sleep. True, you need it four times a day, but still .."

Richard Armour, US poet and author, said, "Each year it gets harder to make ends meet - the ends I refer to are the hands and feet."

Happy New Year!

Hello Mr Riverman.
yes you guessed it ,it is I Anonymous himself.I will get to N/Y/R in a moment.A long long time ago when there used to be lots of trees in the jungle,i beleaved that when someone died it was like going to sleep.Remember to sleep to sleep perchance to dream, but then technology moved on and they invented the BRAIN SCANNER.Oh dear so it was a permanent kind of thing, dreaming was out.The only N/Y/R i ever recall making was when i was 20 years of age not all that long ago,may be a little longer for you but thats life. the doctor new i smoked, i went to see him about a cough "would you like to live 15years longer" he asked, well yes who would'nt.Give up smoking, that was possible my only N/Y/R,needless to say i failed in the task but succeeded a few years later. My pants are dry and i am still taking TAMSULOSIN.So its off and over from ANONYMOUS...
